Swedens just now best sprint skier, Emil Jönsson, had the last three years taken the places 2, 3 and 4 in the Royal Palace Sprint.
But this year, in the FIS XC World Cup Final in Stockholm and Falun, the goal is to win and be the King on the Castle.

– I missed a victory in Stockholm and I will really take the first place there, when it’s in Sweden and the coolest competition in the year, said Emil Jönsson who just now is preparing himself to the Olympic Games in Canada.

Emil said that the atmosphere around the track at the Castle is giving the competition a special feeling. Especially when the sprint is arranged in the middle of the Swedish capital and where the Swedish King are standing on the stands and following the race.

Every year a lot of  supporters are following Emil Jönsson from the ”Jönsson-stand”, where the supporters from Emils home town Årsunda will take there’s places when they arrived with buses to Stockholm. Emil hopes that he can give his supporters a very nice happening and a victory to celebrate in the World Cup Final.

– To be successfully it’s important to ski very good at the last uphill before the finish line. At the training before I will do some analysis to find out the best skis to be used at the final hill. It’s there you find the winner of the race, declare Emil Jönsson.

The Swedish ski stars are very satisfied with the track in Stockholm, which he mean is one of the best track in World Cup. Especially the last 100 meters are important to be successfully in, when it’s up hill. Because of that every one used wax on the skis, and it’s also important to find the best track.

Emil hopes that he will be the King of the Castle on Wednesday 17 march. But before of that he hopes to be successfully in the Olympic Games.
